Den reef is located in the south of Xuan Dai bay, about 1km to the north of Da Dia reef national landscape, in An Ninh Dong commune (Tuy An district). On the reef situates a lighthouse managed by Maritime Safety 2 Company. It is 22 meters high above the sea level. Every 5 seconds, the light makes a round rotation, emitting light for the offshore boats in the distance of 17 nautical miles to figure out the way in or out Xuan Dai bay easily. From here, they can see panoramic of vast blue sea in the East and the heaving islands, large and small reefs in the bay. With such an important position, Den reef lighthouse is both a tourist attraction and a "sea eye" importantly contributing to preserving the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the country.
