Cu Mong lagoon (Song Cau town) is nearly 15,000 ha, stretching from Xuan Canh commune to Xuan Thinh commune and crossing the other side of Xuan Hoa commune. This place is known as a "lobster kingdom". However, in early November, 2017, the storm No. 12 swept through this area, causing numerous damages.
Mr. Do Van Chinh, Head of the Economic Division of Song Cau town, lets known that since the storm, farmers have repaired distorted lobster cages which are washed up to the shore by the storm to prepare for new crop, so this area is bustling again. Previously, under a raft, farmers often put from 3 to 4 cages together or from 9 to 10 cages dropping near the bottom. Now, they drag up cages and put plastic containers under cages and on the side of cages in order for them to float in the middle, avoiding water pollution in the bottom.
