The delegation of Hai Duong province was very impressed and moved to visit and work with Phu Yen province right on the occasion of the province organizing the 60th anniversary of Vũng Rô Wharf receiving the first shipment of the No-number ships. This is an extremely important historical event of the province; it is a source of pride not only for the Party Committee, the Army and People of Phu Yen but also for the whole country.

The first time coming to Vũng Rô, we were very impressed with the beauty of this place. We hope that Phu Yen will soon promote the potential and advantages of this area to make an important contribution to the construction and development of the homeland and our country, especially opening up numerous economic development opportunities for the province.

On this working trip, Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee presented Phu Yen province with 90 gifts worth a total of 100 million VND to people with meritorious services, relatives of martyrs who died at Vũng Rô Wharf, and officers and soldiers who participated in transporting weapons and ammunition at Vũng Rô Wharf.

This is a small gifts that the Party Committee and People of Hai Duong province sent to the sworn brotherhood province of Phu Yen, expressing gratitude for the contributions of people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Hai Duong province hopes that in the coming time, the Party Committees and People of the two provinces will keep fostering the steadfast relationship that has been preserved for the past 65 years.

60 years have passed, but the event of the No-number ships carrying hundreds of tons of weapons and equipment from the rear of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Vũng Rô Wharf is still mentioned as a miracle of intelligence and creativity, a glorious history of the Army and People of Phu Yen and of the whole nation.

Proud of the legend of Vũng Rô, the responsibility of today's generation is to keep the tradition of their predecessors, building and developing Vũng Rô in conjunction with the General Planning of the province, the Planning of the Southern Phu Yen Economic Zone to become a cultural and historical tourist destination of national and international significance.

Currently, the Provincial People's Committee is promoting investment to turn Vũng Rô and the surrounding area into a bustling seaport area, a gateway to the East Sea, an important traffic hub, promoting the socio-economic development of Phu Yen and the South Central region; creating an important premise for Vũng Rô in particular, Phu Yen in general, and the whole country to keep growing from the sea, getting rich from the sea, contributing to constantly consolidating and strengthening the national defense posture associated with the People's security posture in the area to become increasingly solid.

MR NGUYEN LE VI PHUC, CHAIRMAN OF DONG HOA TOWN PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE: Managing and developing the relic into attractive tourist destinations

Dong Hoa town is honored to be assigned the task of preserving and managing the No-number Ship Relic, Vũng Rô Wharf. The town has directed schools in the area to include the history of the formation of this relic in the local education program; organize tours and teach pupils to better understand the heroic traditions of our Army and People, the glorious epic of the Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea. Functional departments and localities strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness in protecting the relic and ensuring environmental sanitation in the area.

The town is preparing to implement the project to restore and preserve the relic of the No-number ship, Vũng Rô Wharf in numerous stages, with a budget of more than 100 billion VND mobilized from nuerous resources such as the provincial and local budgets, and socialization.

The goal of the project is to preserve and promote the value of the relic in a sustainable and synchronous manner, serve the local socio-economic development; build the relic site into a sacred place to commemorate the historical events of Vũng Rô; organize ceremonies and places of visit for Party and State leaders on important national holidays; organize activities and educate pride in the history of building and defending the country of previous generations.

This will be an attractive tourist destination; contributing to promoting tourism to become a key economic sector as proposed in the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2023, with a vision to 2050.
