The Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee has recently issued a directive document related to strengthening the fight, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights.
Accordingly, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Party Organizations, Party Committees under the Provincial Party Committee, departments, branches, the Fatherland Front, the provincial unions, the Party Committees of districts, towns and city to focus on thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the objectives, viewpoints, tasks and solutions stated in Directive 13/CT-TTG, Official Dispatch 65/CD-TTg and the Prime Minister's directives on handling violations in the production and distribution of fake milk, fake medicines, health protection foods, etc. to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of individuals and businesses, and to protect the security and health of the people.
Units and localities launch a high-profile campaign to fight against and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights; consider this work as a very important, long-term task, which must be done regularly, comprehensively, continuously and need the participation and involvement of the entire political system and the entire people.
Units closely combine the inspection and supervision work of the Party, the inspection work with the supervision of agencies, elected representatives, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, press and media agencies and the people to promptly detect, correct, rectify, overcome limitations and shortcomings; strictly handle cadres, civil servants, and officers who lack responsibility, slacken leadership, direction, management, and violate the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
Along with that, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Party Agency of the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Provincial People's Committee to deploy the establishment of a Working Group headed by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, with appropriate participants; directing the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to continue to promote its role and activities; strengthening the direction and synchronous implementation of measures and operations to combat and prevent smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and banned goods; promptly detecting and strictly handling violations.
The PPC also directed the Departments of Health, Agriculture and Environment, Science and Technology, Culture-Sports-Tourism, etc. to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts of trading in counterfeit, smuggled, or unknown origin drugs and pharmaceuticals, or violations of forestry products, aquatic products, fertilizers, livestock, pesticides, etc.; reviewing and recommending competent authorities to amend and supplement regulations on intellectual property to direct and manage newly arising issues, ensuring consistency and synchronization in legal regulations. At the same time, it’s also to review and clearly define the responsibilities and areas of each agency and unit, ensuring no overlap, omission of tasks, lax management, affecting work; strictly handle agencies that request advertising, carry out advertising, individuals and artists who take advantage of their reputation to advertise falsely, especially on social networks.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, etc., the department has developed and implemented plans to deploy food safety management activities of the industry, participating in interdisciplinary inspection teams on food safety of the province at production and business establishments in the province.
The Department has directed the Phu Yen Market Management Department to focus on managing the area, regularly monitor and supervise to promptly detect market developments, especially dairy products, health protection foods, food, goods of all kinds at retail channels, e-commerce platforms; strengthen propaganda, dissemination and education of the law to organizations and individuals in production and business.
Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, shared: In order for the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, etc. to be implemented in accordance with the law and instructions from all levels, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to thoroughly grasp and direct market management departments and forces to strengthen coordination, inspection, and supervision of production and trading activities of items with highriskof counterfeit. “The Department will carry out post-inspection of food safety in the industry and trade sector according to the plan of the Provincial Interdisciplinary Steering Board for Food Safety; effectively implement tasks and solutions to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, production, and trading of goods that are not qualified for circulation on the market,” said Mr. Tran Quoc Toan.
