During the recent five-day holiday from April 30 to May 1, show that not only tourists from other provinces visited Phu Yen, but local residents also increased their use of goods and services. This created opportunities for businesses to stimulate consumer demand and improve customer service. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vinh, a tourist from Đồng Nai province, shared: "During this holiday, my family chose Phu Yen as a destination to relax and recharge before returning to work. Phu Yen offers beautiful beaches and fresh air, combined with well-developed dining and commercial services in the city center, which made it easy for us to find suitable products and services during our stay".
Amid the hustle of serving customers, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, owner of a café and beverage stall in Ward 7, Tuy Hoa City, shared: "During the recent holiday, there was a high number of tourists and local customers. In the coming time, I plan to refresh the shop and prepare better services to serve customers, especially during the summer season".
According to a representative from Co.opmart Tuy Hoa supermarket, with the goal of supporting customers' shopping experience and boosting sales, the store launched several promotional programs and significant discounts during the April 30 and May 1 holiday. These promotions were applied directly to a wide range of products and food items. Furthermore, enhance customer convenience, the store has increased the availability of ready-to-eat food items, available for immediate consumption at the supermarket. In the future, the supermarket will continue to rotate various promotional offers for both local residents and tourists.
According to businesses and individuals in the industry, the number of customers purchasing goods and using services in recent days has been very high, doubling or even tripling the usual volume. However, businesses have kept prices stable, with no increases or additional fees applied.
In order to promote the development of goods and services business activities, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has recently proposed solutions and recommendations for the Ministry of Industry and Trade to collaborate with local departments of industry and trade, as well as businesses, to implement supply-demand connection activities. They also aim to strengthen the promotion of the "Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods" campaign to support the consumption of domestic products and services, as well as to develop policies and programs to stimulate consumer demand and encourage nationwide shopping events.
The Department of Domestic Market Management and Development has requested that Departments of Industry and Trade in provinces and cities organize activities to connect distribution enterprises with goods manufacturers. They are also encouraged to cooperate with other localities to carry out trade promotion activities, facilitate connections, and support the consumption of locally produced consumer goods, safe food products, and regional specialties. Provincial Departments of Industry and Trade are urged to mobilize local enterprises to implement domestic trade promotion activities, stimulate consumption, and actively roll out market stabilization programs through new methods to enhance both scale and effectiveness, in combination with supply-demand connection and trade promotion activities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in order to promote the development of trade and services, the department has focused on implementing solutions. These include supporting the development of the province’s retail distribution network through a system of shopping centers, supermarkets, rural markets, and retail stores; implement support policies to stimulate local consumption and promote the development of both the provincial and national markets. The department has directed its specialized units to actively promote digital transformation in trade promotion activities and supply-demand connectivity, while closely monitoring consumer trends to provide timely guidance for retail organizations and businesses in their production and service operations.
