The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on November 5 issued a plan to carry out the Prime Minister’s Directive No.30, dated August 29, 2024, on the development of cultural industries.
Vietnam welcomed more than 14.1 million international tourists in the first 10 months of 2024, an increase of 41.3% year on year, according to the latest report from the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has just approved the Vietnam Community Tourism Development Project for the period 2024-2030. Accordingly, the cross-cutting perspective of the project is to develop sustainable community-based tourism in accordance with tourism development strategy and planning, tourism product development strategy as well as security, national defense, and social order; enhance the value of natural resources, historical landmarks, and scenic areas while contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage, landscapes, and environmental protection.
In order to enhance awareness, knowledge, and skills on community-based tourism development among craft village residents and businesses with a tendency to develop community-based tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has organized a training course on knowledge of this type of tourism development.
