The PPC recently held a Q1/2025 press conference to provide information on the implementation results of the province's socio-eco development and national defense-security plan over the first 3 months of the year, as well as key tasks and strategic directions for 2025.

At the press conference, the spokesperson for the PPC stated that in 2024, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the entire political system, the business community, and the people of the province united and made concerted efforts to implement a wide range of solutions. As a result, the socio-eco and national defense-security situation in the province remained stable and showed positive developments. In the first 3 months of 2025, the provincial socio-eco performance recorded several positive outcomes. The entire political system focused efforts on the task of reorganizing and streamlining the administrative apparatus. The provincial Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated to have grown by 7.20%, ranking 39th out of 63 centrally-run cities and provinces, and 9th out of 14 provinces and cities in the Central Region from Thanh Hoa to Binh Thuan. Specifically, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries grew by 4.43%; industry and construction by 6.79%; and services by 9.21%. Cultural and social sectors made notable progress; social welfare was ensured; and national defense and security were strengthened and remained stable.
In the first quarter, 212 businesses entered and re-entered the market, including 147 newly registered businesses with a total registered capital of 1,226 billion VND (a 10% increase in the number of businesses and a 96% increase in capital compared to the same period last year), and 65 businesses announced their return to operation. Simultaneously, 254 businesses withdrew from the market. The total state budget revenue in the province as of March 31 reached 1,317 billion VND, equivalent to 24% of the central and provincial budget targets set at the beginning of the year (22% of the adjusted target set by the Provincial People's Council), marking a 3.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
Addressing the press conference, media agencies and journalists highly praised the province’s achievements, particularly highlighting the vibrant activities marking the 50th anniversary of Phu Yen's Liberation, which contributed significantly to promoting the image of the province and its people. Several issues raised by journalists included: the work of promoting and advocating for investment attraction remains limited, with the full potential of some infrastructure and projects, including the Medical College of Phu Yen’s General Clinic, yet to be realized. Furthermore, there have been delays in the progress of streamlining the administrative apparatus and restructuring administrative units to implement a two-level government system.. Addressing the press conference, comrade Le Tan Ho emphasized that in the overall success of the province in recent times, the contributions of the media agencies in the field of public communication have played a significant role. In the coming period, the province has many tasks to accomplish in order to achieve the objectives and tasks outlined, and successfully implement the goals of the Provincial Party Congress Resolution for the 2020-2025 term. Simultaneously, the entire political system will continue to focus on the work of restructuring the administrative apparatus, organizing local government at two levels. The PPC Vice Chairman called on relevant agencies, units, and localities to strictly adhere to the press release regulations and respond to the media. He urged the press agencies to continue supporting the province, enhancing the promotion of Phu Yen's image and people both domestically and internationally, and effectively advocating for investment and cooperation.
In order to achieve the targets and plans set for 2025, comrade Le Tan Ho stated that in the coming time, the PPC will continue to effectively carry out the work of reorganizing and streamlining the administrative apparatus. This includes improving the quality and efficiency of the operations of the apparatus, avoiding overlapping functions and tasks, and ensuring policies for civil servants, public employees, and workers during the process of reorganization, streamlining, and downsizing the workforce. There will also be close and timely coordination to ensure the quality, effectiveness, and progress of implementing the tasks of reorganizing local administrative units at the commune level, in accordance with Resolution 74/NQ-CP dated April 7, 2025, by the Government and Plan 66/KH-UBND dated April 3, 2025, by the PPC.
