On the evening of April 1, at April 1st Square (Tuy Hoa City), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Phu Yen Liberation Day (April 1, 1975 - April 1, 2025) and receive the First Class Labor Medal.

In her speech at the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An reviewed the glorious history of the army and people of Phu Yen in the resistance war against the US. April 1, 1975 entered Phu Yen's history as a brilliant milestone, when the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam flew proudly on top of Nhan Tower, marking the moment when the homeland was completely liberated.

The victory on April 1, 1975 was thanks to the correct, creative, and talented leadership of the Party in the cause of national liberation and national reunification. Deeply inheriting Ho Chi Minh's ideology, with the steadfast will: "Even if we have to burn the entire Truong Son range, we must resolutely gain independence"; the close and meaningful coordination between the provinces of Zone 5 at that time.

The victory on April 1, 1975 was the result of 21 years of arduous struggle; it was Mother Hoa Dong bravely blocking tanks; it was the sacrifice of more than 13,300 martyrs and more than 5,300 wounded soldiers; it was the tears and deep pain of more than 2,000 heroic Vietnamese mothers and tens of thousands of mothers and wives of martyrs...

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An expressed the deep gratitude of Phu Yen homeland for the support of the great rear - the North, especially the sister province of Hai Duong and localities across the country. Thousands of cadres and soldiers have devoted their youth and lives to their homeland Phu Yen...

After the liberation of their homeland and the reunification of the country, the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Yen have strived to overcome difficulties and build their homeland. The province's economy has developed strongly with an economic growth rate always maintained at a fairly high level, reaching over 14% in some years. Phu Yen is now known by many friends at home and abroad as "The land of yellow flowers on green grass", an attractive, friendly and affectionate destination.

"Looking back at the heroic history of Phu Yen after 95 years under the leadership of the Party, 50 years of liberation, we are proud of the national spirit, patriotism and indomitability of previous generations. That legacy is not only a source of pride, but also a driving force for today's generation to continue in the revolutionary cause of building and developing Phu Yen homeland, together with the country becoming more and more prosperous and happy", Comrade Cao Thi Hoa An affirmed.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa An called on the Party Committee, the government and the people to join hands to build the homeland to become more and more beautiful and civilized; together with the whole country, firmly step into a new era, an era of national development and prosperity...

Addressing at the ceremony, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Mr. Phan Dinh Trac emphasized that the liberation of Phu Yen province contributed to creating momentum for the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, completely liberating the South on April 30, 1975. These are brilliant milestones, forever the pride of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Phu Yen province.

50 years of national reunification and 36 years of re-establishment of the province are not long compared to the length of history, but Phu Yen has a new development appearance. With the development perspective of "respecting the past, firmly believing in the present, strong in the future" creating an important premise for Phu Yen, together with the whole country, to enter a new era - an era of self-improvement, breakthrough, acceleration, rapid and sustainable development; successfully build a prosperous, democratic, fair, civilized, prosperous, happy socialist Vietnam, on par with the world powers.

Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Mr Phan Dinh Trac suggested that the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Yen need to strongly arouse the desire for development; mobilize maximum resources to create breakthroughs in socio-economic development.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Phu Yen province; the liberation of the South, national reunification and towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, the province must do better in the work of repaying gratitude; complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Phu Yen, together with the whole country, must carry out on schedule the tasks of continuing to reorganize the political system apparatus; successfully organize the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

On behalf of the Party, State and National Assembly leaders, Politburo Member, Central Party Committee’s Secretary, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Mr Phan Dinh Trac presented the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, Government and People of Phu Yen province for their outstanding contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.

Immediately after the ceremony was an art program with the theme "Heroic Phu Yen - Bright Future", consisting of three parts: "Homeland of dawn calls" expressing the aspiration to rise up; " Proud majestic song" recreating the heroic tradition of Phu Yen's army and people; "Phu Yen - Aspiration to rise up" depicting the changes of the province after 50 years of liberation.
