According to the report at the conference, in the first quarter, the areas of the economy were basically stable and developed. The total state budget revenue in the province until March 31 reached 1,317 billion VND, an increase of 3.3% over the same period last year. Economic growth of the province (GRDP) reached 7.2% (ranked 39/63 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government), in which agriculture, forestry, and fishery increased by 4.43%; industry and construction increased by 6.79%; and services increased by 9.21%.
The province has completed the restructuring of specialized departments under the PPC on schedule, ensuring smooth and stable operations. In the first quarter, Phu Yen ranked 3/63 provinces and cities nationwide in the Public Service Performance Index (PSPI), which measures service quality for citizens and businesses in administrative procedures and public service delivery. Cultural and artistic activities were vibrant. Notably, the province held a variety of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of Phu Yen's liberation, leaving a strong impression on locals and visitors alike. Social welfare programs were well maintained, and national defense and security were reinforced and kept stable.
However, there remain several issues in the province. Investment attraction has yet to show significant improvement; the number and scale of approved projects are still limited and small. The real estate market remains sluggish, and revenue from land use fees is low. Compensation and site clearance processes are slow, affecting the implementation progress and disbursement of public investment capital. Several long-standing projects and cases have not been fully resolved.
At the conference, delegates discussed solutions for implementing tasks in the upcoming period, such as: the progress of preparing and submitting for approval various zoning plans, major planning projects, and plans for heritage sites and scenic landscapes; the preparation of documents, procedures, and organization of land auctions; as well as investment attraction efforts and support for major investors who have registered to invest in the South Phu Yen Economic Zone (EZ).
In his concluding remarks at the meeting, PPC Permanent Vice Chairman, comrade Le Tan Ho, requested that heads of agencies, units, and localities continue to focus on ideological work regarding the streamlining and restructuring of the organizational apparatus; improve the quality and efficiency of its operations; and accelerate the implementation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2025. He emphasized the need to promptly resolve obstacles in long-standing or suspended projects to ensure their completion and use, thus avoiding waste. Simultaneously, it is necessary to enforce administrative discipline and order effectively, and promptly handle all administrative procedures for citizens and businesses in accordance with regulations.
PPC Permanent Vice Chairman, comrade Le Tan Ho, also requested that relevant departments and agencies promptly advise the PPC on stabilizing economic management, ensuring the achievement of the 8% economic growth target - especially in the context of the United States imposing a 46% tariff on Vietnamese goods. He emphasized the need to strengthen state management in the fields of land, natural resources, minerals, environment, and forest protection; and to conduct regular inspections and promptly handle any violations…
