In Tuy Hoa City, the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces recently held a working session to discuss and reach consensus on several matters within their authority, as well as on the implementation plan for the proposed merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces, following approval by the competent authorities.

At the working session, the Standing Committees of the People’s Councils of the 2 provinces discussed and agreed upon the draft proposal for reorganizing the structure of the People's Councils, including the Committees of the People's Council, the deputies' groups, and the Office of the Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies and the People's Council of both provinces. Specifically, both sides agreed on the plan for drafting, assigning the lead agency, and coordinating the development of the resolution on the working regulations of the Provincial People's Council, its Standing Committee, its Committees, the deputies' groups, and the provincial People's Council deputies. The two sides reached a consensus on the form of development, assignment of the lead agency, and coordination for drafting the work plan and supervision program of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council and its Committees. They also agreed in principle on drafting a resolution that stipulates mechanisms and policies to support travel and working conditions for officials, public servants, and employees of agencies and organizations in administrative units undergoing reorganization, when relocating to work at the administrative centers of the newly arranged provincial- and commune-level administrative units.
The leaders of the People’s Councils of the 2 provinces also provided input on the proposal to establish a joint Office of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and the Provincial People’s Council, based on the merger of the existing offices of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces. They discussed proposals regarding the reorganization and allocation of office spaces and equipment for staff; arrangements for accommodation and transportation for officials, civil servants, and employees; and plans for handling unused assets and equipment after the merger…
Addressing the working session, comrade Cao Thi Haa An, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Council of Phu Yen Province, highly appreciated the thorough preparation of the working contents by the Offices of the Delegations of National Assembly Deputies and the People’s Councils of both provinces. She emphasized: “The objective of reorganizing the People’s Councils and their offices is to streamline the organizational structure, enhance the quality of personnel, and ensure the effectiveness of representative bodies in the new context. Therefore, relevant departments are requested to continue close coordination to develop and finalize the most appropriate restructuring plans. The proactive and close collaboration between the 2 provinces in implementing these initial steps is expected to lay a solid foundation for a streamlined, efficient new model of governance that better serves the people in the near future”.
