That is the request of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Central Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide at the 4th meeting of the steering committee that just took place. According to the head of the Government, localities that have completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses will continue to review, while localities that still have temporary and dilapidated houses will accelerate the progress to complete by October 31st, 2025.

As information at the 4th meeting of the Central Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, since its launch, the whole country has eliminated nearly 209,000 houses (including: 111,000 houses inaugurated and handed over; 98,000 houses started construction), reaching about 77% of the total demand. Along with the efforts of those who are supported; voluntary and selfless help from the community, neighbors, relatives, and organizations; local leaders and ministries have actively and enthusiastically participated; many houses have been built with a value much higher than the budget supported by the State.
For Phu Yen province, as of May 12th, the whole province has started construction of 1,854 out of 2,224 houses, reaching 83.36% (including houses for people with meritorious services and victims of Agent Orange) for people with meritorious services to the revolution, poor and near-poor households. In particular, 1,320 new houses were built; 534 houses were renovated and repaired. The total number of completed houses is 1,263, of which 783 were newly built; 480 houses were renovated and repaired. The whole province has 8 out of 9 localities that have started construction of houses, reaching over 90% to 100%, Tuy An district only reached 69%. There are 4 localities with a total of 100% completed houses, including Tay Hoadistrict, Phu Hoadistrict, Tuy Hoa city and Dong Hoa town.
Mr. Tran Huu The, the Standing Committee member, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses, said: Responding to the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the province identified this as one of the programs of important significance. Therefore, during the recent time, the Provincial and District Steering Committees have seriously and resolutely implemented the identified contents and plans. From the province to the grassroots level, working groups have been established, work assignments are clearly delivered, and members of the steering committee have closely coordinated; they have complied with the weekly work reporting regime, especially the role of the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level in closely, regularly and continuously inspecting and supervising each household and each house at the grassroots level. In addition to the funding from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, localities have proactively promoted the spirit of mutual love, mobilized local human and material resources, and the help of people, relatives, neighbors, and organizations to provide additional funding and working days for poor households, near-poor households, and policy families to have more resources to complete their houses.
As a locality with a large number of temporary and dilapidated houses eliminated with 467 houses, in addition to promoting propaganda and mobilization work so that all classes of people understand this policy, Son Hoa district also directed agencies, localities, and units to mobilize resources in the spirit of “whoever can help, those who have labors help labors, those who have financial capacity help with money, those who have little help little, those who have much help much”, to help households complete the construction and repair of their houses. Mr. La Chi Tung, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Hoa district, said: The whole district has started to build 436 houses for poor and near-poor households under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. Notably, during the implementation process, many people saw the benefits of the program, they proactively arranged counterpart funds, and combined with support from relatives, family, and the community, so the scale of the houses is guaranteed. It is expected that Son Hoa district will complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before June 30th.
“The success of the program is not only the number of new houses, but also the positive change in people's lives, the belief in the Party and the State. It is the ultimate goal we are aiming for,” the Head of the Government emphasized.
