According to the report presented at the meeting, the socio-eco situation in April and the first four months of 2025 remained stable and showed positive signs in several areas. Some sectors recorded significant growth compared to the same period last year: industrial production maintained its upward trend, with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increasing by 11.5%; exports rose by 16.67%; total revenue from tourism increased by 48.7%; and total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue grew by 16.4%. Several indicators related to the province’s administrative reform in 2024 also showed improvement.
The program to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses has been vigorously implemented across the province. Up to now, construction has commenced on 1,742/2,119 houses (achieving 82.21%), of which 1,026 have been completed. The restructuring of the administrative apparatus and units has been urgently carried out. Political security and social order and safety have been maintained. The quality of cultural and social activities continues to improve, and social welfare policies have been fully and promptly implemented. The province successfully organized the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Phu Yen Province and received the First-class Labor Order in recognition of its outstanding contributions to national construction and defense.
In addition to the achieved results, there remain certain shortcomings and limitations in the provincial socio-eco development. Budget revenue has not met the planned target; the real estate market remains sluggish; and compensation and site clearance for some projects implemented by localities are still progressing slowly.
At the meeting, delegates discussed solutions for implementing upcoming tasks, such as accelerating the progress of key projects in the province and improving compensation and site clearance work. They also focused on measures to enhance digital transformation and administrative reform across the province, preparations for upcoming examinations at all levels, and the management of private tutoring activities, etc.
Concluding remarks at the conference, PPC Standing Vice Chairman, comrade Le Tan Ho, emphasized: In the coming period, the tasks for all levels, sectors, and localities will be heavily demanding. Authorities at all levels must take proactive and swift actions to effectively implement tasks related to the reorganization of administrative units under the two-tier local government model and the merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces. Special attention must be given to clerical work, archiving, inventory, and the management, handling, and arrangement of public assets, including unused houses and land, as well as surplus facilities after the merger, in compliance with regulations. It is essential to strengthen administrative discipline and order.
The PPC Standing Vice Chairman also requested the Department of Finance to further enhance budget revenue collection efforts, striving to increase the 2025 state budget revenue by approximately 10% compared to 2024. The department is also tasked with closely coordinating with relevant units in Dak Lak Province to promptly advise competent authorities on investment policy for the Dak Lak – Phu Yen expressway project. The Department of Agriculture and Environment shall take the lead, in coordination with localities, to resolve issues related to compensation and site clearance for major projects across the province. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is to continue implementing stimulus plans to attract tourists to Phu Yen during the 2025 summer travel season.
