One hundred years ago, on June 21, 1925, Thanh Niên Newspaper - the first revolutionary press publication in Vietnam founded by Leader Nguyễn Ái Quốc - was launched, laying the foundation for the country’s revolutionary journalism. Over the past century, Vietnam’s revolutionary press has consistently served as a powerful tool for enlightening the people, promoting national self-reliance, democracy, and social progress. It has been a sharp weapon in the struggle for independence, national construction, and defense, and a vital force in shaping Vietnamese people and culture.
Opening of the exhibition, journalist Phạm Đoàn Anh Kiệt, Executive Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Journalists’ Association, emphasized: “Throughout the 100-year historical journey, journalism and generations of journalists in Phu Yen have remained steadfast and creative, contributing to the writing of glorious chapters in the history of our homeland and nation”.
From the early days of revolutionary hardship to today’s era of renewal and integration, Phu Yen press has always been at the forefront of the ideological front, vividly reflecting the spirit of labor, combat, and homeland development. Whether in the flames of war or in the process of reform, Phu Yen journalists have consistently demonstrated resilience and creativity, helping to spread the values of truth - goodness - beauty, while inspiring patriotism and the aspiration for progress.
The thematic exhibition titled “Vietnamese Revolutionary Press - A Century of Struggle and Pride in Phu Yen Provincial Press” is taking place from June 2 to 21. Featuring hundreds of meaningful artifacts and publications, the exhibition honors the 100-year history of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and 79 years of revolutionary journalism in Phu Yen Province.
