At the meeting, PPC Permanent Vice Chairman, Mr. Le Tan Ho expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium for enthusiastically welcoming and supporting the delegation in connecting, organizing working activities, and promoting investment.

Informing at the meeting, Mr. Le Tan Ho said: During the recent times, Phu Yen's socio-economic situation has shown numerous positive changes. However, compared to the general level of the entire country, the province still faces many difficulties, and its economic scale remains modest. Phu Yen province has now completed the Provincial Planning for the period of 2021-2030, vision to 2050, with many strategic and breakthrough directions. In particular, the province is focusing on developing high-tech industry, tourism - services, agriculture and aquaculture.

Notably, South Phu Yen Economic Zone is identified as one of the 8 key coastal economic zones of the country, oriented to become a large industrial, seaport and logistics center, connecting with Laos, Thailand and Cambodia. Lots of large investors have been currently researching and implementing key projects here such as: Bai Goc Deep-water Port Project, High-quality Iron and Steel Complex, and many other infrastructure projects.

In addition to industry, Phu Yen province also possesses the strength to develop eco-tourism - resorts with a 189 km long coastline and many famous beautiful bays and coves such as Vung Ro Bay, Xuan Dai Bay, etc. In agriculture, the province is a key lobster farming area of the country, and is developing high-value fruit tree models in mountainous districts.

This working trip of Phu Yen aims to promote the potential and strengths of the locality and seek cooperation opportunities with Belgian partners, a country with strengths in infrastructure, seaports, agriculture, and renewable energy. Phu Yen hopes to establish cooperative relations in areas such as agricultural processing, high-end tourism, textiles, clean energy (wind power, solar power), etc.

The leaders of Phu Yen province hope that the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium will continue to support the promotion of the local image to the business community, associations, overseas Vietnamese and Belgian people, thereby attracting attention, learning and investing into Phu Yen province.

During the working program in Belgium, the Phu Yen delegation also participated in other activities organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium, including: Workshop on “5 years of implementing the EVFTA Agreement and prospects”; Meeting to connect with EU agencies, organizations, enterprises, Vietnamese embassies in the EU, ASEAN embassies in Brussels; Conference on Promoting the resources of the Vietnamese community to promote Vietnam - EU relations; Meeting and bilateral connection with 9 Vietnamese enterprises and business associations in Belgium and European countries, etc.
