Addressing at the meeting, Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, Mr Pham Dai Duong expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation of Hai Duong province to visit and work in Phu Yen province on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Vung Ro wharf receiving the first shipment of the No-number ship.
Affirming the close relationship between the two provinces over nearly 65 years of twinning, the Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, Mr Pham Dai Duong expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee and People of Hai Duong province for always caring for and supporting Phu Yen province in difficult times, as well as accompanying the province's socio-economic development process.
Addressing at the meeting, Secretary of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, Mr Tran Duc Thang congratulated the achievements of Phu Yen province during the recent years. Mr. Tran Duc Thang emphasized: Hai Duong - Phu Yen are two twin provinces that have been closely linked since the fierce war years of the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Nearly 65 years have passed, but this good traditional relationship has always been maintained, developed and become an invaluable asset of the Party Committees, authorities and People of the two provinces on the path of construction and development. Mr. Tran Duc Thang hopes that the two provinces will enhance their relationship, share in the work of Party building, socio-economic development, and improve people's lives.
On this occasion, the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee presented Phu Yen province with funds to build 13 houses for families with meritorious services but living in difficult circumstances, the total value of VND 840 million; 90 gifts (worth VND 100 million) for people with meritorious services, close relatives of martyrs who died at Vung Ro wharf and officers and soldiers who participated in transporting weapons and ammunition at Vung Ro wharf; presented Phu Yen Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs with 2 sets of computers and 2 printers.
The delegation visited and presented gifts to 2 families with meritorious services who are children of martyrs from Hai Duong province who fought and died on the Phu Yen battlefield and 2 war invalids from Hai Duong province who are living in Tuy Hoa city.
The Hai Duong provincial delegation also visited and presented gifts to Hai Phu Library. Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary, Mr Tran Duc Thang expressed his impression and emotion that Hai Phu Library still preserves books and publications of Hai Hung Newspaper.
